POS and inventory integration for store chains
Solution example: one source of truth for stock, so store, warehouse, and online shop figures always agree.
This is a solution example, not a record of a client project.
A common situation in retail chains: three different systems hold three different stock figures, and online customers order items already sold out in stores. Replacing all three at once is rarely an option — each is used by a different team and works well for its own purpose.
What we propose is a synchronisation layer with one source of truth for stock, plus a queue that can be replayed when one system fails to answer. Synchronisation without a replay path only moves the problem to the middle of the night.
